Information WalkThere currently processes
WalkThere does not provide user accounts or payment processing. First-party analytics run only after you choose to accept analytics cookies. If you decline, WalkThere does not record analytics events or send them to our server. If you email service@walkthere.world, your email address and the information you send are processed so we can read and respond to your message.
A hosting provider may process routine request information such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, and time of access for security and delivery. Retention and access to those logs depend on the hosting provider used for the deployed site.
Optional analytics cookies
Only after you choose to accept analytics cookies, WalkThere records limited first-party events: page views, journey starts, chapter views, journey completions, language changes, and outbound-link host names. Event parameters are limited to destination, chapter, language, and source labels. We do not send waitlist form values, email addresses, or precise street-view interactions. The analytics request may include the page path, time on page, referring page, browser and device type, language, time zone, viewport size, and the IP address seen by our server.
Your cookie choice is stored in your browser so the site can remember it. With consent, the browser also keeps a first-party visitor identifier, session identifier, and unsent events so they can be retried. You can change the choice through Cookie preferences at the bottom of the page or clear it through your browser site-data settings.
Demo waitlist
The waitlist shown in the Mount Emei demonstration is a local interface demonstration. The entered email address is validated in your browser but is not sent to or stored by WalkThere. Reloading the page clears it.
Mapillary and OpenStreetMap
WalkThere does not contact Mapillary or the configured map tile service before you choose to activate an immersive journey. After activation, your browser requests imagery or map tiles directly from those providers. They may receive technical request information and process it under their own policies.

Editorial sources, photography credits, licences, and provider attributions may link to other websites. Following those links takes you to services governed by their own privacy practices. Documentary photographs stored with this site do not contain a WalkThere user identifier.
Retention and your choices
Contact emails may be retained while needed to respond, maintain a record of a correction or rights request, protect the service, or meet legal obligations. You may ask about or request deletion of information you sent directly to us, subject to obligations that require retention.
